All the highlights you have marked as private will remain private. Only the highlights that are marked as public will be publicly accessible. However the tags created in the system are used in the autocompletion of the tags across the users. So please make sure not to create tags from your personal data or any data that you don't want to be visible to the public. 

In general it is a good idea not to save any personal data like usernames and passwords using the highlights or tags.

Your data will not be sold directly any advertisers or third parties. But we might use the anonymised group data share some insights like what were the popular tags and popular urls, what were the urls that had highest number of highlights etc. But any data that can help identify the users will not be shared with the third parties.
